There’s nothing quite like a statement piece when it comes to concocting the perfect outfit! Sometimes it’s fun jewelry, occasionally it’s bold lipstick, and other times it’s a specific item of clothing. When I came across this Kate Spade skirt I was obsessed and I knew exactly how I wanted to style it! I added contrast with all black clothing (besides the skirt of course) and coordinated with the pattern by throwing on gold-toned accents and accessories.

This skirt was much heavier than I initially expected, even though it was brocade. I was pleasantly surprised by how warm it was, given Chicago’s chilly and fluctuating temperatures this time of year. The quality of this skirt is fantastic, the fit is just right, and the ruffled hem is the perfect finishing touch!
For the gold accents, I threw on some of my favorite Kendra Scott earrings, a necklace, some bangles, and my black Alexa bag with gold hardware.
