If you've been following my blog long enough, then you're probably well aware of the fact that I absolutely love Lilly Pulitzer! While visiting Shelby in Florida last week I was finally able go to one of the official stores. We visited the Lilly Pulitzer in Winter Park, FL on Park Ave. My experience was comparable to that of a kid in a candy store. It was amazing to be surrounded by wall-to-wall Lilly prints and products and it was honestly a miracle that I restrained myself to only …
Supergirl – Halloween 2012
Happy Belated Halloween 2012! :)I almost didn't realize that this was my last Halloween at home until it was finally here and I honestly still can't believe it! Like I've said in previous posts, these "lasts" are getting more and more frequent and standing out much more to me. I had a great time handing out candy all night to the adorable little trick-or-treaters while dressed up as Supergirl. I put my own spin on the look by adding a tutu, a bow, and some cute fingerless gloves to my costume. …
College Visits & Carry-On
Note: As I wrote this post, I was sitting on early-morning flight headed to Florida (hurray for extra leg room in exit-row seats!) This is my first time flying completely by myself so I’m slightly nervous about the whole experience and the extra independence/responsibility, but I’m also really excited! I’m so excited to get there, because I’m visiting my friend Shelby at Rollins for my first out-of-state college visit! I'll be putting up more posts about my visit, so keep …
Fall ’12 Favorites
Happy Saturday!Today I thought it would be fun to do a post on a few of my favorite things this fall. I was inspired by some of the beauty/fashion youtubers I watch who do monthly favorite videos of beauty products and such. I always love watching those types of videos, so I thought I would throw my own spin on things and do a post on some of my fall 2012 favorites. I've included music favorites, a few somewhat random favorites, and of course some my fall fashion favorites!image via my …
Make the Most of the Night – Hoco 2012
I had a fabulous time this year at homecoming dancing, taking pictures, and socializing with my friends and classmates. The group I went with included some of my closest friends so it was a really great time! We did pictures and dinner beforehand and then went to the dance which was way more fun this year because more people were actually dancing. They had jungle themed decorations and some pretty cool lighting that made it look like there were shadows of trees all along the walls of our gym. …
Spirit Week
Happy Friday and happy October everyone! It's Spirit Week at my school and tomorrow night is our Homecoming dance. For Spirit Week our theme was jungle/safari. We've had crazy hair day, karaoke, safari dress-up day, movie day (they played Lion King), spirit shirt day, pep rally, and deck out day. I love Spirit Week each year and it's one of those bittersweet senior moments when I realize that this is my last one. As for Homecoming tomorrow night, I'm so excited to see everyone looking sharp …
Begin Again
This week has been ridiculously crazy! I'm working so much on college supplemental essays, doing homework (obviously), and prepping for our homecoming which is next weekend! The one thing I still really have on my homecoming checklist is to find a really cute necklace to go with my dress. One of my favorite thing about school dances is dressing up for them, so I always put lots of thought into what I wear for these fancier occasions because they are a lot rarer. In regard to other occurrences …
College Interview
This week I went to my first individual college interview! I was pretty nervous beforehand because I wanted to make the best possible first impression. It turned out to be a wonderful experience and quite a lot of fun! I was interviewed by a recent graduate from the class of 2012 and I also talked with the person in charge of admissions for my area as well as some parents who have children currently enrolled in the school. I was there for about an hour in total and I really enjoyed the whole …
To Write Love on Her Arms
It's National Suicide Prevention Week and the time of year when you see people walking around with the word "love" written on their arm(s). I'm taking part again this year because I believe in doing absolutely everything you can to prevent self-harm and suicide. It doesn't matter who you are, where you live, what you look like, how many friends you have, etc. NONE of that changes your value as a human being I believe that every life is equally significant and should be treated with …
Lakeshore for Labor Day
Happy Labor Day! (Better late than never, right?)I was lucky to have a four day weekend last week thanks to Labor Day as well as a special football tournament our school was participating in.... in Ireland! As a result of the tournament, a huge portion of our school was in Dublin for the weekend. The Varsity football team, Varsity Poms (my girls ♥), golf, cheer, staff, parents, and lots of alumni flew over. I've heard from everyone who went that they had a wonderful time. It's clear …
