Spirit Week

October 5, 2012

Happy Friday and happy October everyone!

It’s Spirit Week at my school and tomorrow night is our Homecoming dance. For Spirit Week our theme was jungle/safari. We’ve had crazy hair day, karaoke, safari dress-up day, movie day (they played Lion King), spirit shirt day, pep rally, and deck out day. I love Spirit Week each year and it’s one of those bittersweet senior moments when I realize that this is my last one. As for Homecoming tomorrow night, I’m so excited to see everyone looking sharp and all fancied up! I personally, absolutely LOVE dressing up and I’ll be posting what I wore to the dance soon, keep your eyes open for that post some time within the next week.

Onto a slightly different topic, I’ve been selling the hair bows I create at my school this week in animal prints as well as our school colors. It’s been awesome to see so many people walking through the hallways wearing them! I’ve even seen a few guys wearing them as makeshift bow-ties; now that’s creative! I personally wore a cheetah bow I had made with a crazy leopard tank top I grabbed from Forever 21 the night before for out safari dress up day. I had absolutely nothing animal print in my wardrobe whatsoever and apparently I wasn’t the only one in that situation. I can’t even try to count how many people came to school wearing animal print footie pajamas they picked up from Target. It was to the point where I almost absentmindedly called it pajama day when talking to my friend later on in the day. Today we have the pep rally which is always my favorite part of spirit week! 🙂

Update: Woke up to a call from school that they have no power today thanks to a ComEd power outage… So I get a four day weekend 🙂
