Earlier this month, Cal and I met up with our wonderful wedding photographer, Lynzie from Bonphotage, for an engagement shoot at the Art Institute of Chicago! When we started our wedding planning process, finding the right photographer was one of the top priorities! We were already super happy with our choice, but after receiving our session photos, we’re even more excited!
I’m super sentimental, so having photos and videos to look back on in the future is something that I really appreciate, especially for special moments. Content creation + photography is a space I’ve been in for 10+ years and I’m a very visual person, so I’m just a bit particular. (Fun Fact: I started Bowtiful Life in 2012!) That said, I’m so glad we chose Lynzie to capture our big day! Her energy, artistic eye, and attention to detail had me intrigued as soon as I saw Bonphotage’s Instagram page. And we’re also completely in love with her double exposure shots! (See the second photo in this post.)
Quick flashback – Lynzie and I had our first call back in May of 2024 after we’d been poring over potential photographer options on Instagram, The Knot, etc. I remember that I was sitting upstairs at Soho House with my friend Meghan when I took the call… and I’m pretty sure I was grinning ear to ear the whole time. After I got off the phone, Megh said something along the lines of “so, what do you think?” And I responded with “I think we have our wedding photographer.”
Flash forward to a chilly, cloudy Monday in Spring of 2025. Cal and I decided to combine our photo shoot day with our February 28 Date! (Just a few days delayed.) We met up with Lynzie on the AIC steps, our first time connecting in person, and proceeded to spend the next hour running around taking pictures. We’re so grateful for the dreamy, editorial vibe she captured in these photos!
