Paused. ⏸
I have decided to put all personal and sponsored content on pause this week on all of my social media channels as well as here on my blog. This is not the time for me to share pretty pictures, cute outfits, branded content, affiliate links, etc. With this platform, I have the privilege and responsibility of having an audience and I apologize for not being more vocal or speaking out sooner regarding social justice and human rights issues on my platform.
Also: I understand that I will never be able to understand. As a white, cisgender woman I will never be able to feel or understand what the black community has gone through and the racism that they deal with on a daily basis. That being said, I stand with you.
I’m doing my best to listen, learn, and support in the ways that I can while also creating space and opportunities for the tough conversations that need to be had. This is not the time for my voice to be the loudest. It’s time for me to LISTEN and to do what I can to support and amplify the voices of those in the black community.
I have and will continue to share resources and relevant content on my stories. I have saved these videos and posts to a highlight on my profile which is where I plan to keep them indefinitely. This is not a trend and it’s not new – this is an ongoing issue & I urge you to get involved and show your support.
