Red Valentino Ruffles

November 1, 2017

This statement will come as no surprise to those of you who have been following Bowtiful Life for a while now, but ruffles are one of my favorite kinds of embellishment on clothing! They add a feminine touch to any look and when they’re partnered with an edgier accessory or pair of shoes they create the perfect mix of sweet and sassy.

– What I Wore –

RED Valentino Dress  –  Steve Madden Boots (Under $100)  –  Kate Spade Quilted Bag  –  Monogram  –  Pearl Starburst Studs (No longer available, similar style here.)  –  Gold Pave Bracelet  –  Pearl Cocktail Ring (On sale!)  –  Gold Watch (similar)  –  David Yurman Cuff

This red and ruffled dress is so fun and I fell in love with it as soon as I saw it! When I was little I used to wear red ALL the time. It was one of my go-to colors and I think at one point in time almost half of my closet was red. I haven’t been wearing red as much in the last few years, but this dress makes me want to add more red to my wardrobe again!

One of the things I like most about this dress is the placement of the ruffles. The ones on the bodice frame the shoulders without overpowering the torso. Likewise, the bottom ruffle is a nice finishing touch to a simpler silhouette and adds a nice “swishing” feeling as you walk. It’s an incredibly girly dress but also simple in structure.

These boots are some of my favorite shoes that I own. I don’t wear them incredibly often because of the height of the heel, but they’re fun to pull out when I want to add some extra “oomph” to a look. They’re surprisingly comfy for how tall the heel is and the over-the-knee part of the boot doesn’t slip down as you walk. To top all that off, they’re under $100!
