Giving Netflix a Chance

July 2, 2013

Of all the college tips that I’ve gotten recently from older friends, there is one piece of advice that is continuously given… get Netflix!
In the last few years, I’ve honestly hardly used the TV in our family room. I’m always so busy, which makes very it hard to sit down at a specific time each week to watch a show. Instead, I’ve been using Hulu. Don’t get me wrong, I’m so grateful for Hulu, but there is one slight problem with it. Once I get through my queue of new episodes that are saved, there’s really nothing left that I want to watch. So, two nights ago I finally gave in and started my free first month of Netflix!
One thing I already love about Netflix is the huge selection of old movies. The very first movie I watched after I signed up was Funny Face with Audrey Hepburn and Fred Astaire. I am a huge Audrey fan and there are a bunch of her movies available through Netflix. I can’t wait to see them all! There are also a lot of newer movies that I am looking forward to watching at some point.
I’m sure that Netflix will be helpful whenever I have down time this summer and in college. I’m just hoping it won’t be too distracting when I have something else I should be doing (laundry, homework, blogging, etc.) We’ll just have to see how this goes and whether I choose to start paying on a monthly basis.
What’s your opinion on Netflix? Do you use it?
xoxo,
