It's that fabulous time of year when fireworks light up the summer night sky, it's almost the Fourth of July! The Fourth is definitely one of my all-time favorite holidays and it's been that way since I was very little. For as long as I can remember, my family and I have gone to multiple nights worth of fireworks as well as the parade in my hometown. I'm not sure exactly what it is that I love most about the Fourth. Maybe it's the fireworks, the parades, the seas of people wearing red, white, …

Oreo Cake Balls – No Baking Required
Happy Friday, lovelies! Today I'm doing something brand new to Bowtiful Life and sharing one of my favorite recipes with all of you! This past March I was making a sweet treat for a large group of people and I found a simple recipe from Kraft for Oreo Balls. They turned out really well and everyone seemed to love them, so I knew that I had to share the recipe with all of you as well! I've switched up a few things and added a few tips and tricks I learned along the way, so hopefully that makes …
Sixteen Summer Dresses Under $70
One of my go-to outfits in the summer is a simple sundress paired with an open sweater (a necessity for heavy air conditioning), a big tote bag, a pair of Jack Rogers, and some simple jewelry! I particularly love dresses that can be worn for both formal and casual occasions! In some cases, you can even wear the same dress for both a June wedding and a 4th of July backyard barbecue. All it may take is switching up what shoes and accessories you choose to wear! For more formal occasions, you can …

Chicago Staycation
In the last few months, I've noticed that one of the most frequently asked questions I get on Tumblr tends to go something like this... "I'm visiting Chicago soon and I was wondering if you could tell me your favorite things to do in the city, what the best restaurants are, & any must-see spots I should visit?" Especially given that it's summer, people are traveling a lot and I've been getting these sorts of questions even more than usual in the last few weeks! This led me to the idea …
Summer Lashes with Physicians Formula
Hey lovelies! Today I'm sharing one of my new favorite summer makeup must-haves with all of you. Read on to find out how you can get full lashes for the summer without wearing falsies! When I was in high school, I had to wear false eyelashes regularly for dance competitions and they were probably my least favorite thing about competition days. I could never wait to pull the furry lashes off of my eyelids at the end of the day and it would be such an incredibly weird sensation every time I …
Wrapped In Memories – Project Repat
Recently, I did a massive round of spring cleaning and I realized just how many t shirts I had from various activities and events I've been involved in so far in my lifetime. I found shirts from grade school, summer reading programs, dance studios, high school, homecomings and spirit weeks, dance team, sorority events, dance recitals, and college tees. The sheer amount of t-shirts I owned, and rarely wore, was honestly astonishing and I had no clue what I would do with them, until I heard about …
Visit the Shedd Aquarium for Free
This week I went the Shedd Aquarium on one of their free Illinois resident days! Funny story though... we didn't know it was a discount day until we were already halfway through the (massive) line outside... whoops! It was great getting in for free, but the line was crazy long and it was super crowded inside. However, regardless of it being so busy, it was a lot of fun and I'd definitely suggest one of these days if you're looking for a fun and free summer afternoon activity in Chicago! Things …
“Insecurity is a Waste” Bowtiful Wallpaper – June ’15
This month's bowtiful wallpaper features one of my favorite DVF quotes! "Life is very short. Insecurity is a waste of time." Peonies are my all-time favorite flowers, so I decided to go with a peony theme for this background. I've been loving having fresh flowers in my room recently since they brighten up the space and make everything feel so fresh! I hope you all enjoy this month's wallpaper and feel free to check out previous months' wallpapers through the link below! How to set up your …
