August is almost over, isn’t that crazy?

Finals are approaching at an alarming rate and I’m still in disbelief with how fast this semester flew by! Isn’t it crazy how the end of the semester has such a tendency to sneak up on us so quickly? One of my key “life hacks” for staying on top of everything, staying healthy, and feeling good during stressful and busy times like finals week is…
I’m always carrying a water bottle around with me (seriously, ask anyone) and bkr bottles have quickly become one of my favorite bottle brands. Some of you may recall that I talked about bkr in my Nordstrom Beauty Trend Show post and that I got to meet the co-founders of bkr, Tal and Kate. I always find getting to meet the individuals behind a brand to be such a treat! I loved hearing how Tal and Kate were inspired to create a stylish reusable water bottle after seeing so many plastic water bottles being thrown out every time that they went to the gym.
The result of this concern? A fun, stylish, and functional bottle that quickly became a go-to for celebrities including Leighton Meester, Reese Witherspoon, Blake Lively, Emmy Rossum, and Jessica Alba.
Breaking down why I love my bkr bottle:
– the colors for each bottle are inspired by the color trends seen on the runway
– there are so many color options
– the 16oz. bottle fits easily into any purse because it’s so compact
– they’re easy to carry
– they add the perfect pop of color to any outfit
– they make great gifts
– perfect for on the go

Without further ado, let’s get started!
I got this shirt last spring from Necessary Clothing in purple and green and I’ve been wearing both of them like crazy recently! They’re super comfy and they work really well with a puffer vest and scarf! They also make a longer version that they refer to as a “dress”, but I think it works much better as a tunic! I’ll definitely be picking up a few more colors in the near future.
2. Starbucks Pumpkin Flat White
Oh. my. goodness.
I was already a fan of flat whites and pumpkin spice lattes, so this is AMAZING! Highly recommended, but get a smaller size because it’s pretty rich!
3. El Capitan & new emojis
I finally updated my laptop to OS X El Capitan and I love the new operating system! It’s so much faster and I actually don’t mind the update to the photos app for my macbook. The separation of panorama, time-lapse, screenshots, selfies, and videos is super helpful when I’m trying to find something specific. I’m also a HUGE fan of the new emojis that came out with iOS 9!
4. Loyola Blog, CHICago Style
Did you catch my interview with CHICago Style earlier this month? I’ve been staying up to date with this blog that’s being run for one of Loyola’s Communications classes and I think that the girls in charge of it have been doing a great job. Definitely check it out!
Finally, happy almost Halloween!
I’ve shared a few previews of my costume on my Snapchat from when I wore it for a mixer yesterday, but I’ll be posting more photos on the blog tomorrow, so be sure to swing by for a special Halloween Outfit of The Day post!

Happy Saturday! As I mentioned in a recent post, it’s been quite chilly in Chicago this summer! So chilly, that I’m actually enjoying the 90+ degree heat and humidity in Saint Louis right now! It feels like summer here, which is something I’ve been missing in the Windy City and the ‘burbs due to the odd temperatures. This chilly spell, plus the ridiculous levels of air conditioning that most Chicago establishments have, has caused me to constantly keep an extra layer in the car whenever I go anywhere. J.Crew’s downtown field jacket is one of my favorite pieces in my closet and it’s been my first pick all summer whenever I need an extra layer. They don’t make the jacket in navy anymore, but they still make it in mossy brown and black! I’ve included a few of my favorite alternatives below as well for anyone looking for a nice lightweight jacket for fall and spring temperatures, or for whenever you need an extra layer for AC like I always do.
