Bowtiful Relaunch: New Site, New Layout, Same Bows

I am so incredibly excited about today’s post!  Some of you may have noticed that I’ve been a bit M.I.A. recently and that the blog was down for a few days this weekend…

As I mentioned in one of my recent posts, I’ve been working on majorly improving the behind-the-scenes aspects of Bowtiful Life in the last few weeks. Specifically: making the blog easier to browse on both computers and mobile devices, organizing the various sections of the site, and most importantly, making Bowtiful Life as user friendly as possible to ensure that your experience is fun, easy, and seamless.

That being said, I am so excited to finally pull back the curtain and launch the new and improved Bowtiful Life for all of you! In addition to the aspects that I listed above, I also finally took the plunge and switched from Blogger to WordPress, which was quite a process. Switching everything over myself was a bit stressful, but I’m so incredibly happy with how it all turned out and it was really satisfying to successfully figure out how to do it on my own.

Scrolling Menu & Categories

Bowtiful Life now has a “scrolling menu.” In other words, the menu from the top of the site moves with you. Now when you’re midway through a page you can still access all the other menu aspects of the blog without having to scroll all the way up to the top of the page. Recent and future posts are all also going to be “categorized.” The featured categories for each post will be listed above the title and you can click on them to find related posts that fall into the same category.

Improved Mobile Access

I absolutely despised the old mobile version of my site. It just wasn’t pretty at all and it was a pain to navigate. When I was working on this relaunch, mobile was a big focus for me. I’m so happy with how the mobile version of Bowtiful Life looks now! It’s much more streamlined, there’s a full, easy-access menu, and it looks a million times cleaner. I’m still working out a few kinks with how the images from older posts are loading on mobile, but I’m hoping to get that all get ironed out soon! Beyond that one temporary setback, I’m absolutely elated with how it turned out!
